Cleaner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Cleaner to work in health and social care setting. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our clients’ facilities, ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. Your work will directly contribute to the comfort and health of clients/ residents.

  • Location: Edinburgh & The Lothians  

  • Type: Full-time/Part-time


Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and disinfect residents' rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and offices.

  • Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.

  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, railings, and furniture.

  • Replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages.

  • Follow care home hygiene protocols and safety procedures.

  • Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs.

  • Adhere to infection control and health and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of illnesses.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role, preferably in a care home or healthcare setting would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and health and safety regulations.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean environment.

  • Good time-management skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to communicate effectively with staff and residents.

  • Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks like bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
